Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
This week we had a lot of fun introducing and learning our letters. The story we focused on this week was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The story is about the letters climbing up a coconut tree then falling out. We did a lot of activities centered around identifying letters. Students made coconut trees as pictured below. Students also played letter basketball, letter bingo, magical letters, and went on a letter hunt. Parents please continue to go over the alphabet in a fun way with your child everyday. It's best to start with their names then move on to the other letters.

Making Shapes
This week we worked on being able to identify and describing basic shapes. In the photos below, during small group, students used toothpicks and small marshmallows to make three basic shapes a square, a rectangle, and a triangle. The students had a lot of fun with this activity and it is something you can do at home. Please continue to review shapes with your child. Remember shapes are everywhere use every moment as a teachable moment.
